So we’re coming out of the weekend looking to introduce something a little different in today’s update. It’s a machinima called Zinwrath. Now, some of you might need a quick explanation here. Machinima is the use of non-professional 3D engines to produce CGI animations and tell stories. This is usually done with video games. Here’s an example page from a comic book that was designed using The Matrix Online. Zinwrath was done using World of Warcraft. And it’s pretty darned funny. You can find more projects like this at http://www.myndflame.com
And this is a great example of a creative, yet inexpensive way to tell a story. Machinima has been around for years, though and Zinwrath is hardly the first of its kind. One of the first really popular ones was done using Star Wars Galaxies to create a music video for the MC Chris song “Fett’s Vette.”
And as you’ll see at myndflame.com, it’s fast becoming a popular method for producing entertainment. Take a little time and explore their site. It’ll be worth it.
