So it’s a pretty busy day for us and we won’t be adding a recommendation today. Instead, we’ll just remind you that Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog went live yesterday and that if you haven’t already, you should be checking out as soon as possible. It’s only up until Sunday (the final episode will be uploaded Saturday). In the mean time… Read more

We’re back after a long weekend with another web comic recommendation. This one is geared towards people with a background in tabletop gaming (specifically D&D), and without at least a passing familiarity you probably won’t get most of the jokes. So, for the three of you left that this applies to… Read more

No, it hasn’t come out yet, no we weren’t admitted to a press screening, no we don’t have any inside information on the project, but yes… we’re recommending it. Read more

You may think this recommendation will only apply to Buffy fans, but we’re recommending this for fans of comic books in general. Plus, if there’s a Buffy fan on the planet not reading Season 8 by now, they must be in a coma. No, we’re talking to the general comic book reading populace here. Much like with the movie Serenity, Joss Whedon has done a great job of making this accessible to a large audience without needing the benefit of having a TV series set up the story for you. Read more
AFTRA Ratifies Labor Agreement (SAG/AMPTP Update)

AFTRA’s members (or, at least 62.4% of them) voted to ratify the agreement between their union and the AMPTP that was struck on May 28th, putting the deal into affect starting on July 1st. Not surprisingly, SAG is sticking to its guns and calls this decision a mistake. AFTRA released a statement taking a swipe at their sister union, as well as urging all of the unions to work together more cohesively when the current deals expire. Read more

Some time this fall, we’re going to be debuting our original web based comic book, REVO. (We’ll give you a release date the second we’re sure we can make a deadline.) In the mean time, however, we’ll be slowly updating the section of the site dedicated to the project with concept art, character bios and even some short stories to fill out the universe a little before our first issue hits the digital stands. So we hope everyone’s 4th of July weekend was splendid. We were sure to do absolutely nothing productive ourselves (at least, nothing we can post here just yet). But the long weekend is over and the endless vortex of suck that is employment has dragged us back in once more. Beautiful imagery, eh? Well, today we’re recommending something that certainly fits that description… the beautiful imagery, not the endless vortex of suck. Gun Baby.

Mediocre Films (recommendation)

So exploring Felicia Day’s blog while writing up our recommendation for The Guild yesterday, we clicked on a few of her links and came across Mediocre Films. It’s a group of people with a video camera and some funny to spread around and we think it’s something you all might enjoy.
It’s silly, it’s over the top, it’s a bit ridiculous and it’s… it’s… OK, we’ve run out of redundant decriptive terms, but it’s a fun site to get your click on. And it’s yet another example of what you can do with some creativity, some friends and some interweb.
